If you have suffered domestic violence the first port of call should be to report the matter to the police if that is possible.

However, our family team can help to obtain Court Orders which can also protect you. It is usually necessary to make an immediate application at Court for an Order called an Injunction. An Injunction will prohibit your husband, wife or partner from using or threatening violence against you (known as a Non-Molestation Order).

The Court can also grant you an injunction requiring your husband, wife or partner to leave your home (known as an Occupation Order). The Court treats these applications as urgent and it is often possible to get an injunction on the same day as the application.
