Our matrimonial solicitors have experience acting for clients from many different financial backgrounds and we can deal with any financial issue that will arise within divorce proceedings.
It is extremely important to resolve financial matters upon divorce. We will help you to try and negotiate a financial settlement with your husband, wife or civil partner. If this is possible the terms of the agreement will be incorporated into a written Court Order which becomes binding on both parties. If it is not possible to agree a financial settlement by negotiation we can make a financial application and represent you in the County Court. Our divorce solicitors act for clients from many different financial backgrounds and we can deal with any financial issue that will arise within divorce proceedings.
Financial matters can be complex to resolve particularly if the assets of the family involve business interests, property or share portfolios, family trusts, pensions or overseas assets. Our team has experience in handling high value settlements.
The Court will consider the value of all assets and divide them fairly between the parties. Fairness varies from case to case depending on each client’s individual circumstances, needs and the needs of the children of the family. We will advise you on the relevant factors involved in your case, how the court will approach settlement and the possible outcomes.
We will provide you with the most appropriate options to move forward and advise you each step of the way. If it is not possible to reach agreement with your spouse we will advise you in respect of issuing County Court proceedings in order to finalise matters.
Our family solicitor is a member of a Board known as Resolution which aims to resolve conflicts in a constructive and non-confrontational manner. When matters are dealt with in this way the outcome can be much better both financially and emotionally for all concerned.
