Halachic Living Wills
Halachic Living Wills Solicitor in Manchester
While there is a lot of debate around, and strong opinions about, the “right to die”, as a Jewish patient, you may want to ensure that others respect your “right to live“. You might also want to ensure that decisions about your medical care are made in accordance with Jewish law (Halacha). The UK Mental Capacity Act (2005) requires health and care staff to take into account your religious views and any instructions that you give about how you wish to be treated or who should be consulted about your wishes
At Latimer Lee, we are able to provide you with a Halachic Living Will to entrench your right to be kept alive, in accordance with Halacha. We are happy to arrange for any draft documents to be reviewed by your Rabbi or a Rabbi we recommend (additional charges might apply).
We recommend that you grant Lasting Powers of Attorney at the same time as you sign your Halachic Living Will and we can ensure that your Health & Welfare Lasting Power of Attorney is drafted in such a way that it reflects and does not override your Halachic Living Will.
